A Steampunk Revolution

Steampunk def. :  Imagining a future that never was or a past that could have been...

Imagine a world where the Industrial Revolution never ocurred. What would your everyday life be like without the electronics that we take for granted? No cell phones, TVs, computers, dishwashers, etc?! How would school and work be different? What if we were not so driven by values of profit? We will explore these themes as we imagine and create a new world inspired by the Steampunk aesthetic.

    • Challenge art piece should be a functional or moving (kinetic) art piece. Functional means that it actually does something: for example, walks a dog, tells time, waters a plant, follows the sun to reflect light somewhere, or anything else you want it to do!

  • Check out this PDF of amazing art pieces at the Device Gallery in Los Angeles.
